GLO

This year my school hosted it's first spring dance, the theme was GLO. Everyone at the dance wore bright or neon colors and flashing lights were going off the entire time! It was such a fun time because it was an outside dance, which really made it special, especially because most of our other dances are indoors. It was so awesome to be dancing around all night out on the school's blacktop! Hopefully next year they will host a dance just as great!

These are my friends Ryan and Jill with me before the dance started

Stotesbury

As our last regatta this season, my team competed at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta held in Philly.

My boat rowed a strong race as a senior eight. Though we didn't advance onto the semi-finals, I am still so proud of them. The competition is tough when it comes to a regatta like stotes, and we not strong or fast enough to go on any further.

Hopefully after being in the top boat this year the all of the returning rowers will have enough determination and motivation to become the fastest boat on the river!

First Boat

This season, I was placed in the Women's First Eight boat which I coxed all season.

Our boat was composed of mostly sophomores who have developed into such strong rowers! I can't wait to see what they can do next year when they return as second year varsity members.

The girls are motivated, athletic, and all together make the perfect boat! I couldn't have asked for a better boat!

Next Level

I was just returned my third photo that I submitted to the Reflections Contest that went onto the COUNTY level!

This is the picture that advanced :)

The theme for the contest was diversity is...

First Place!

Reflections 2012

Earlier this year I submitted pictures into the refections contest for my School, I wasn't expecting much, but I received FIRST PLACE!!!!!!

Now that I placed first overall for my school, my picture now goes onto the county wide level of competition.

Hopefully the judges will like my picture as much as the last one did!

DECA SLC 2012

Kustom Kicks

Kayleen, (left) Katherine, (center) and I all created an online shoes company for our written entrepreneurship deca state leadership competition

Throughout the process of creating our Kustom Kicks project, we learned a lot about our work ethics and how to work together as a team.

By creating this project, It confirmed my of interest in per suing a marketing/ communications degree in college.

Our team competed wonderfully with our project, and we can't wait until next year when we can make it to NATIONALS!

THOUSANDS of marketing students from Virginia came to compete at the State Leadership Conference in Norfolk, VA. This was the opening ceremony of the competition.

Josef

These are my friends Darryl and Josef. Josef, has Cerebral palsy which has confined him to a wheelchair.

"limits in movement and posture cause activity limitation and are often accompanied by disturbances of sensation, depth perception and other sight-based perceptual problems, communication ability; impairments can also be found in cognition, and epilepsy is found in about one-third of cases. CP, no matter what the type, is often accompanied by secondary musculoskeletal problems that arise as a result of the underlying etiology."

Josef is in many different kinds of therapy to help him become as independent as possible. His outlook on life is such an inspiration, yes, he is disabled in many different ways, but he prevails and keeps a positive outlook on life. Even though he does not have many physical abilities most other people do, Josef finds a way to make things work for him.

MID ATLANTIC ERG SPRINTS

My school's crew team participated in the mid atlantic erg sprints held at TC Williams High School in Alexandria Virginia on February 4.

This is my friend Gabby and I, we were the only participants representing Lake Braddock in the Junior Women's 20 Minute row. I pulled an average 2:20 split and 4,147 meters! Pretty good for an injured coxswain, right?!

Teens for Jeans

These are some of the Jeans that I will be donating for the Teens for Jeans foundation!

My school's DECA club is participating in the Teens for Jeans campaign. I chose to participate because I believe it is a great organization to provide jeans for children and teens to do not have any! Why not donate your old jeans that do not fit to someone else who is in need?

"Eddie's Club, Inc. is a non-profit organization geared towards giving youngsters, boys and girls ages 4 - 21 that have any form of disability, an opportunity to participate in a supervised, volunteered-based, activity and recreational program."

On January 8th I attended my first session of Eddie's Club. Being at a place like Eddie's Club truly does give you a new perspective on life. After going I walked away being very appreciative of the life that I live.

I can't wait to go next month to volunteer and meet new kids!
